About me

I'm Pim. I build software that takes work off your hands: web apps, desktop software and tools for tasks that come back every day.

I always start from a real problem, often my own. A training app I still use every week, a desktop app that lets a team share files without losing work, a tool that lets a contractor write a quote in a few minutes.

How I work

I work in small, checked steps. That way you always know where you stand, and what I deliver actually works.

I first make it sharp what exactly needs to happen and how we will know it worked. Then I build in small steps, and check every step with tests and by looking at it and using it myself. I never let anything through unchecked.

That is how I built TeamSync, a complete desktop app for Mac and Windows with its own sync engine. With tests for the engine, for the database access rules, and for two laptops working at the same time.

What I pay attention to

  1. The problem first

What needs to get better, for whom, and how do you know it worked? Only then build.

  2. Small, working steps

Every step has to work before the next one starts. That keeps it clear and there is always something to show.

  3. Testing instead of hoping

Automated tests, plus using everything myself on phone and laptop, in light and dark.

  4. Secure and careful

No keys in the code, access rules in the database, and nothing recorded or stored without consent.

Curious what I can build?
